NEW ARRIVAL- Novo - Friday
Babatunde Awoderu aka Novo, is a Nigerian Uk based artist. He started
off in music at a very early age, through his natural love for sound
and the influence of the music played by his parents like Sina Peters,
Ebenezer Obey, Kwam 1 and so on.
Before leaving Nigeria to further his education in the Uk, Novo
developed his skills in the Hip-hop genre at a very young age. At the
time he listened to artist like 50 cent, Obie Trice, Snoop Dogg,
Eminem, 2 face Idibia, P Diddy and so on.
While studying Human resource management at the University of
Hertfordshire Uk, Novo released his first Mixtape “The Janitor” in
2009, a project that got him respect in his town, amongst his friends
and a few people in the industry.
By 2010, Novo had made head way as an independent artist with several
released and unreleased projects, which lead to him getting signed to
Giant Music World late 2010.
Novo emerged on the Uk music scene in May 2011 with his debut single
“lil star” which charted on Music Week’s Pop Club chart at #16 and
leaped to #9 in the second week.
His video was playlisted on Kiss Tv, Flava, Clubland, Massive R&B and
Vox Africa. He was asked to support Michelle Williams of Destiny’s
child during her launch in London on November 2011.
In the start of 2012, Novo released his third official Mixtape “I am
Novo” and his second single “Stuntin” ft Starboy Nathan & Scorcher.
He has also worked with the likes of Barry Bee (discovered leona lewis),
Rawknait (producer to Madonna, Pixie lot, Peter Andre), Starboy
Nathan, performed with Mann at the o2 Arena in July of 2012 to name a
few.
Novo has now concluded his Undergraduate degree course, and is back in
Nigeria to start something new and fresh for his people. A dream he
has been looking forward to fulfilling. Novo has being in the studio
everyday since his graduation, exploring new sounds and styles in
music. His first single “Friday” is already making waves in the
country.
Novo is definitely the one to watch in 2013
