Some may remember Lindsey very briefly as the first contestant on Project Fame 3 to be kicked off but it seems she would be having the last laugh and the likes of Iyanya and Chidinma won’t be alone sharing the spotlight from the Project Fame alumni as witnessed by hundreds this past Saturday Mar 2nd 2013
The songwriter, singer, guitarist, is no stranger to the world of Nigerian entertainment and has been pegged to be the future of Nigerian soul amongst the big names in the music business.
If you haven’t heard the EP then I think the appropriate question to ask would be “What planet have you been on?” The EP beautifully named “Brown” is one of the best sounds coming from the giant of Africa since Asa. Nigerian born and bred singer, former Jos resident (don’t all the greats come from Jos?) Lindsey released some of the greatest 8 songs with 3 bonus tracks ever heard. You can tell she has been influenced by the greats but still managed to make her own Nigerian unique, fresh, suave sound that can tame a wild boar.
It was only right to have a musical event centered on the singer, songwriter to show the world her talents and songs… and she started with the DMP event at City Park Wuse II on the 2nd of March 2013.


As Lindsey got on stage, she had the most appealing way of driving the crowd, engaging them with her soft but fierce voice and even shockingly made the crowd of Abuja groove to her mid tempo tune 'The 90s Song'. It was something that has rarely been witnessed- making the Abuja crowd act like they weren’t stuck up. We didn’t exactly have cameras watching them but they let loose and grooved to the song that took you back to the 90s.
Lindsey drew in the crowd with an exquisite blend of high quality sound/video/lighting system, armed with some of the best clothing choices seen on a “startup artiste”, a top notch 7 man band that synced perfectly with Lindsey’s moves and sounds… It was pure magic that Saturday, March 2 and nothing less.
Lindsey performed her popular tune 'The 90s Song', an amazing remix of “Drift Away” and more off the EP but I believe what got the crowd drawn in to listen more  than before was her cover of Fela Kuti's  'Trouble Sleep Yanga Go Wake Am'. If you were never a Fela fan, Lindsey would have made you a convert after singing that meaningful song; the beats, the bass and her voice made the song nothing far from perfection.

Nigerian music has taken a different and should one dare say “more exposed” turn due to the efforts of Darey, Bez, Asa. Lindsey will be a name added very soon to these greats -with songs like “Believe” and “The Letter” you would agree too.
Her music can be described as the “joy that comes in the morning”; this is a woman to watch out for and the EP- “Brown” is something to have on your playlist.
You’ll be seeing more of Lindsey as this event will not be the only one promoting this amazing singer, so “joy that comes in the morning” will be coming to you sooner than you think across Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world.

MEET ELDEE & WIFE........

Big Congrats to Eldee The Don (Lanre Dabiri) & his wife, Dolapo as they welcome their second child.

The baby was born at yesterday morning in Atlanta, Georgia. Both mother and baby are doing fine.

eLDee and Dolapo tied the knot in 2008 and welcomed their first child, a girl named Temilayo, in 2009.

Omawumi Stages Album Concert

One of Nigeria’s most talented female artistes, Omawumi Megbele is staging a concert for her new album titled ‘The Lasso of Truth’. The concert is scheduled to take place at Oriental Hotels in Lagos on April 7, 2013. Having supported lots of other Nigerian artistes, Omawumi is now ready to take the center stage and deliver one of the most incredible album concerts of the year.

 Speaking about the concert, Omawumi said it’s an opportunity for her fans and well-wishers to enjoy her music without any restriction. “Most times when I perform at gigs, I always stick to time to give space for other performers but with my concert tagged ‘THE LASSO OF TRUTH’, I intend to show my true colour as a great performer and a great entertainer”.

 The award-winning vocalist who revealed she is working with Flytime Promotions on the concert said there will be something spectacular about the concert that will make it different from others. “I know that Omawumi has always been different. Coupled with the fact that I’m working with the best promoter around, Flytime Promotions, People should just expect anything. This concert has been in the works for a long time now. I kept putting it off because of my work load. There are concepts I came up with in my head when I record my songs but I can’t execute for lack of time on other peoples gigs. My musical arrangements are always different and interesting. This is the time to showcase all that”

 Aside the Lagos concert, Omawumi has plans to take it to other African countries. “The original plan was to take it across Africa starting from five other locations in Nigeria but I have two major campaigns that will flag off about the same time so I had to put that on hold”.

 After Omawumi’s concert on April 7, the perception of album launch concerts in Nigeria will change because Omawumi’s concert will definitely leave people breathless.

Over time, i have researched and learned several ways to care for my skin without breaking the bank. Everything from Honey, Lemon, Green tea, Vitamin E and my favorite of all, Shea butter! You probably already know the many benefits of Shea Butter already. Now straight to my Shea Butter facial.. I assure you, you’d feel like you have the smoothest baby skin once you are done. What you’d need:

-Natural, raw (unprocessed) Shea butter

- Facial scrub (Preferably one with lots of scrubbing beads)

-Warm water

-Facial mask (Preferably a natural mask of Honey/Lime/Avocado/Egg white)

Here’s what i do:

STEP 1. Apply a generous quantity of Shea butter on your face. The idea is to let it sit on your face, not get absorbed, so you’d need a much larger quantity than the regular application. Massage with your fingers in circular motions, applying pressure in problem areas of your face (spots, blemishes, scars). Let this sit on your face for 5minutes. (You could keep it on for as long as 20minutes if you have the time)

STEP 2. Now over the Shea butter, apply a good quantity of your facial scrub and scrub your face in easy circular motions. If you do not have a facial scrub with lots of beads, Sugar would be a good replacement here. Just take a level spoon of sugar and apply over the Shea butter on your face and scrub.

STEP 3. Do not wash off immediately. Allow to sit for another 2minutes just so the Shea butter and Scrub mixture can penetrate your already open pores.

STEP 4. Now wash off with warm water. This would help open up your pores even more.

STEP 5. This is the perfect time to have your Face Mask work its magic. At this point you have had a good does of vitamin E and moisture from the Shea butter and your pores are ready to accept whatever is given to it. If you do not have a facial mask, the natural route would be best!   Apply honey, or lime, or egg white, or avocado to your face and leave on for 5 minutes. These are all natural and work effectively on your skin. For best results, wash off mask with warm water.

Now tell me your skin doesn’t feel brand new? If you have done this right, you’d notice an instant difference in how your skin feels.

NOTE: Be careful not to scrub your face too often. When you do what i call “over-scrubbing” you’d be doing more harm than good to your skin. Ideally you should scrub only once a week, at most twice. Too much of that and you’d be doing quite the opposite of what you intend and ripping your skin of nutrients that it needs to heal or stay vibrant.

The Shea Butter facial can be done every 2days for a start and then gradually reduce to twice a week.



Ensure to incorporate Shea butter in your daily skin care routine. I use my shea butter 4 times every week as a nighttime moisturizer.

The best Shea Butter is the raw unprocessed kind with the natural nutty smell you might not like initially. You can get this easily from your local market. Shea butter should be yellowish or ivory colored. White Shea Butter can be found, and usually has this color because it has been highly refined.

People of all ages and skin types utilize shea butter because of its many uses.  Every house should have a jar of Shea butter for smoother skin or for treatment of minor skin injuries around the house. Shea butter can be used to treat various skin problems including dry skin, psoriasis, burns, blemishes, eczema, wrinkles and stretch marks. Other uses: Adds and maintain moisture to dry and brittle hair, revitalizes, repairs breakage & split ends and promotes hair growth.
