In honor of Mother’s Day, Kelly Hansome teamed up with Trendy Africa Magazine to perform his ‘MAMA’ song dedicated to his Mum and all the mothers in the world, who of course were represented.
Before his performance, he made a brief speech against domestic violence, stating it is never acceptable to hit a woman. The night raised funds for Speak up Against Domestic Violence (SAD), an advocacy organization created by Trendy Africa Magazine.
His mother, Mrs. Julie Hans, who was also honored by Trendy Africa for her various humanitarian works alongside Ghanaian star Actress and Kidney Cancer Awareness Ambassador Juliet Ibrahim. She gave a brief heartfelt speech thanking God for her children and the recognition. Washington DC based fashion designer, Afua Sam, Houston based movie writer and producer Susan Nwokedi, Africa Liaison at the City of Dallas Regina Onyeibe, Chief Lois Obiyo, Margaret Abu, Bose Ogundipe, and Stella Iheme were also amongst those honoured that same night. Others who could not be present include; Regina Askia, Valerie Kabeya and Maimah Karmo.
